Frequently asked questions.

Answers to the questions we’re asked most often about systems, installation, and after-sales service.

  • Who is Daikool?

Daikool is Daikin’s official partner in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. We design, supply, install and maintain air conditioning and refrigeration systems for residential, commercial and industrial projects from our offices in Kinshasa and Lubumbashi.

  • Where are you located?

Our head office is located at 876, Avenue de la Justice, Immeuble Rose, Commune de la Gombe, Kinshasa. Our Lubumbashi office is located at Immeuble The One, 2ème niveau, 18772 Avenue Route Du Golf.

  • What references can you provide?

Our projects in the DRC include: Four Points by Sheraton, Pullman Grand Hôtel, Novotel Lubumbashi and Kolwezi, Ibis Kinshasa, Protea Hotel by Marriott, Rawbank Atrium, Silikin Village Business Center, Kinshasa Financial Center, Grand Residence Towers, Kananga Airport, and Tata Raphaël Gymnasium.

  • How do I know which system is right for my space?

Our technical team will assess your project. The area, intended use, orientation, insulation, and heat load determine the required capacity and system type. Tell us about your project, and we’ll get back to you with a system specification.

  • What’s the difference between a split system, a ducted system and a VRV system?

A split system serves a single room. A ducted system is an air-conditioning system concealed in the suspended ceiling, distributing conditioned air to several rooms through a network of ducts. A VRV (Variable Refrigerant Volume) system is a centralised air-conditioning solution that connects multiple indoor units to a single outdoor unit (ideal for residential buildings or hotels).

  • How long does it take to get a quote?

Once we receive the basic information about your project, we generally get back to you within a few business days, with a site visit if needed.

  • Are the units covered by a warranty?

Yes. We install genuine Daikin equipment, covered by the manufacturer’s warranty and serviced by our technicians trained by DAIKIN.

  • Do you carry out the installations yourselves?

We handle smaller installations and one-off interventions within the scope of our technical department. Daikool is not an MEP contractor: on large projects, we size the systems, supply Daikin equipment, assist with commissioning and provide maintenance alongside the contractor responsible for the MEP package.

  • Do you offer maintenance contracts?

Yes. We offer scheduled maintenance service packages to extend the lifespan and protect your cooling systems and equipment.

  • What happens in the event of a breakdown?

Contact us at +243 903 111 114 or info@daikoolafrica.com. We’ll arrange a visit based on the site location and our technicians’ availability; customers with a maintenance contract receive priority.

  • Can your systems withstand power outages and fluctuations?

Designed to withstand environmental conditions and power fluctuations, Daikin systems deliver performance and reliability, thanks in particular to Inverter technology. We also recommend installing an electrical protection system suited to your building to protect your installation, extend its lifespan, and maintain its performance.
